My apartment is next to the Fitness Center. Wall to wall. College students and young men come during the day, at night after 10 pm and make an unbearable noise with the weight machines. They drop the weight stacks from on high, they drop the weights on the floor and play loud music or TV, between 10 pm and 1 am. They do not care about neighbors. To make such a loud noise after 10 pm is a violation of the DC Code. I have reported the issue to the manager several times but unfortunately until... today nothing has been done. I am unable to sleep because of the noise. That has happened since Dec. 2021, when I got here.

The year I spent in the community was awesome! It was very quiet, definitely larger apartments than 90% of DC for an affordable price and staff has been nothing but helpful from Day 1. I would recommend these apartments to anyone, especially professionals in need of peace and quiet, tucked away yet close to the city. Also—never experienced any unexpected guests(bugs, mice, etc.), so the complex is well kept! Parking is unpredictable but the community/quality of living outweighs this. Would... definitely live with Park Crest again!

We have lived in Park Crest for nine months now and are very happy with it. The area is quiet but close enough to Glover Park, Tenleytown and even Friendship Heights. The proximity to the park makes you feel like you aren't in the middle of a huge metropolis and is great for getting out. The apartments are older but well kept. Because it is an older building, I rarely hear our neighbors when we are in the apartment- a huge plus. Also, the layout of the apartments allows for a lot of windows and... light.
But what really stands out is the service here. The property managers are responsive and helpful. And the maintenance is excellent! Every time I have submitted a maintenance request, the team responds that same day (usually within four hours) and resolves the issue. The maintenance team is also very friendly, respectful and provides any information to help us manage whatever the issue was in the future (if need be).

Staff was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Also, upon arrival for my showing the agent switched the apartment that she was originally going to show me. Instead of showing me an upper floor apartment, she instead switched to a basement apartment next to the laundry room. In addition she also made me leave and ID with her before leaving for the showing. I have been on many apartment tours and this has never been done. I suspect these things were done was due to the preconceived feelings the... agent has about people who look like me. She also told me a higher rent price that we discussed less than 48 hours before my showing. To make it all worse, upon entering the muggy, damp, and dark basement apartment, 2 dead cockroaches lied face up on the floor while one continued to run across. Upon notifying the agent, the agent insisted on correcting me that the bug was a waterbug and not a cockroach, instead of apologizing for the poor hygienic state of the apartment. This was hands down the worst showing experience of my life. DO NOT LIVE OR RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!

Hi there,
Thank you so much for your feedback! We apologize for any confusion or miscommunication you may have experienced while touring Park Crest. Our availability and prices are subject to change daily, so this is why our Leasing Associate had to... show a different apartment home and why the rent fluctuated.
It is also our policy for the safety of our employees as well as per fair housing laws that we take everyone's ID who tours with us. We apologize if you felt we singled you out, however we assure you that was not the case.
As for the cockroaches, that is certainly not up to our standards and our onsite team has already made plans to have the exterminator come out immediately. We're very sorry that happened.
We hope this explanation helps. We appreciate your feedback!
All the best,
Lindsay

First of all, when I was looking for apartments in DC I had the hardest time. I relied mainly on reviews from people, so hopefully this will help someone looking for a place. I looked all over DC - the biggest challenge for me is that I have a 50lb dog. If you don't have a dog, there are probably lots of places that might suit you better. Dog people - this is the spot.
The fact that I'm in the same place after 3 years says something about the quality of the place. For the price, my 1 bedroom... apartment is rather large - and I LOVE that all utilities are included. It's hard to find that. The main reason I chose this apartment is because it's incredibly hard to find a place that will accept a dog over 25lbs in DC. The building I live in is also directly across the street from Glover Park, which is part of Rock Creek Park. It has some really fun trails and a huge field. It's a little inconvenient as far as public transportation because the nearest metro stop is Dupont. The bus does run through the neighborhood, but I'm glad I have a car.
Whenever I have a maintenance request, it's taken care of the next day (or sometimes the same day). The leasing office staff are friendly and helpful.
My only complaint is that either the walls and floors are really thin, or I have really bad luck with neighbors. I can hear what sounds like loud stomping pretty much all the time. I knocked on their door one night and asked them to keep it down - they denied they had anything to do with it. I complained to the leasing office 3 times but they didn't do much about it.
Anyways, overall, this is really a great place to live - especially if you have dogs. If you don't have dogs, not sure it's really worth the price unless you're a student nearby or something.
