I pay far too much to be trapped in an apartment that is 85 degrees. I have just been informed that they will not turn the a/c on for another month. I cannot sleep it is so hot. The building cares about nothing but your money. Do not live here.

I have been there for one year. One of the receptionists has really bad attitude to their residents. Even if this is a relatively safe area in DC, this apartment has been broken in by non-residents so many times. The utilities are very old and we were even caught in the elevator one time. Our unit is full of bad smell from the carpet. At weekends, there are so much noise in this whole apartment due to the PARTIES! The complaint is useless because they will be noisy again. One scutiger appeared... in our air conditioner vent, a creepy insect! The ventilators in our two bathrooms are all full of dust. The most important thing is that after we moved out, the resident recovery group wants to charge us a big amount of money to their “claimed” damaged in our unit. They only reply the emails to those who want to sign new leases. If you want to take back your deposit or argue for the disputable fees, they will not reply you. They say they are luxury apartments, luxury to the price, not to the experience.

I'm going be as objective as possible but since I can analyze this complex through my experience, I will have some bias.
Pros:
- Nice luxury apartment; kitchen counter tops, balcony, and the whole apartment is beautiful
- Easy way to pay for rent
Cons:
- Loud college neighbors
- The utilities are metered in such a way that can cost a 2 bedroom apartment close to $400 a month
- For what you're paying per square foot, despite its beauty, there were some serious shortcomings in terms of... maintenance taking days to address URGENT repairs
- Upon leaving the apartment, your deposit will be taken from you, no questions asked. I had lived in an extremely quiet apartment who never threw parties and took extra care in cleaning right before we left. They ended up taking our entire deposit.
Conclusion:
Nice but highly overpriced apartment. Would never live there again; recommend finding other opportunities in the Tenleytown area

While the avalon at Fox hall Is an old building I thought it was great to live in ! I've been there 2 years and the customer service is pretty good. Great place to live if you're going to AU or have a job near by.

Very nice apartment building, with a pretty good staff. The only complaint would be that some of the other tenants are pretty sensitive to noise.
